MVP On Wanting Cedric Alexander In The Hurt Syndicate: “We Don’t Do The Hiring”

AEW star and leader of The Hurt Syndicate, MVP, has shared his thoughts on the possibility of Cedric Alexander joining his faction, stating that while he would love to have him, the ultimate decision rests with AEW President Tony Khan. Alexander, a former member of MVP’s “Hurt Business” stable in WWE, has recently signed a contract with TNA Wrestling, making a direct move to AEW more complicated. The Hurt Syndicate has been actively looking to expand its ranks with younger talent, and Alexander’s name has often been brought up by fans as a potential fit.

Speaking in an interview with Jimmy Varsallone, MVP discussed his desire to bring Alexander into the group.

“We would absolutely love to have Cedric, but we don’t do the hiring. That’s a Tony Khan question. But in terms of having another member, that’s something we’ve always been open to. One of the things that we’ve said consistently is because of who we are and how old we are, the thought of adding another member is usually adding someone who’s younger and could benefit from the association with us, that could be elevated by us. That’s how Cedric came to be a part of us initially.”

He also specified the type of wrestler he believes The Hurt Syndicate needs to add to its ranks.

“We need a high flyer. Shelton’s too big and I don’t know if you’ve seen him lately, but he looks like he’s 280 pounds shredded. He can still move like that, but now he’s more of a tank rather than an F-35 or whatever.”
