The viewership numbers for the Wednesday, October 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, which was the show’s sixth anniversary special, have been reported by Programming Insider, and the show experienced a significant drop, hitting a new record low for its regular time slot. The three-hour broadcast averaged 465,000 viewers and a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic. These numbers represent a substantial decrease of 26.7% in total viewership and 35.7% in the key demo compared to the previous week’s episode. The viewership total is the lowest the show has ever done on a Wednesday night.
It is important to consider a major caveat when analyzing these numbers. In early September, Nielsen changed its ratings system to a “Big Data + Panel” method. According to Wrestlenomics, this new system has generally resulted in lower viewership measurements for wrestling shows, especially those with younger-skewing audiences. Therefore, direct comparisons with numbers from before September of this year can be misleading.
Despite the change in the ratings system, the numbers are concerning. The 0.09 demo rating is the lowest for Dynamite on record, and the total audience is the lowest since the October 8, 2024, episode, which was moved to a Tuesday night and ran opposite WWE NXT. These viewership figures do not include the additional audience that watched the program on the Max streaming service. Compared to the same time period in 2024, Dynamite is averaging a 0.159 demo rating and 613,000 viewers in 2025, down from a 0.245 demo rating and 737,000 viewers in the previous year.
