WWE Hall of Famer and TNA veteran Tommy Dreamer recently shared his thoughts on the remarkable evolution of The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) throughout their career, from their early days as independent wrestling pioneers to their current status as top stars and executives in All Elite Wrestling. Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Dreamer admitted that watching their journey has been a “weird” experience for him, as they have consistently pushed the boundaries of tag team wrestling and redefined what it means to be a modern-day tag team. His comments highlight the profound impact that The Young Bucks have had on the industry over the past two decades, influencing a generation of wrestlers and fans alike.
Dreamer discussed the unique trajectory of The Young Bucks’ career and their influence on tag team wrestling.
“The Young Bucks have always been, like, pioneers, different style. Got over…and they were the biggest key cog for AEW. And they were, you know, EVP’s, they have their different character changes. But listen man…it’s so weird for me, just in six years, just to watch this evolution of just these two men…and their characters, and what they used to do on social media was friggin phenomenal, right? Really had people at the forefront of what they were doing, and being, like, an independent success. But then this whole thing with AEW goes out there, and these guys just have changed tag team wrestling. So ahead of their time.”
The Young Bucks are scheduled to face the reunited Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) at AEW WrestleDream on October 18.
