Darby Allin And Jon Moxley Brawl At New York Comic-Con

The brutal and personal feud between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley escalated to a shocking new level at New York Comic-Con, as Allin attacked Moxley with a water bottle and then briefly set him on fire with a flamethrower during a filmed angle. The chaotic incident occurred during an AEW panel at the pop culture convention, which was attended by several AEW stars, including Moxley, Allin, Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, and Willow Nightingale. The public assault is a direct follow-up to their incredibly violent Coffin Match at the All Out pay-per-view and raises the stakes even higher for their upcoming “I Quit” match at WrestleDream. The use of a flamethrower in such a public setting, even in a pre-taped segment, is one of the most extreme acts of violence ever seen in AEW.

The incident took place during an AEW panel on Friday, October 10. Moxley was on stage discussing various topics when Darby Allin made a surprise appearance and directly confronted his rival. Allin asked Moxley if he truly believed he would quit in their upcoming match at WrestleDream. Without waiting for an answer, Allin smashed a water bottle over Moxley’s head, initiating a brawl on stage. The situation then escalated dramatically. Allin produced a flamethrower and briefly set a prone Moxley on fire. Backstage personnel quickly extinguished the flames as security intervened to separate the two men.

The attack is a direct act of revenge for the conclusion of their Coffin Match at All Out, where the returning PAC interfered to help Moxley win by placing Allin in a bodybag. Allin has been seeking revenge on Moxley and The Death Riders faction for months, ever since they wrote him off television with a brutal attack that allowed him to climb Mount Everest. The “I Quit” match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley is scheduled for the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view on Saturday, October 18.
