Samantha Irvin Confirms She Is One Year Into A Two-Year WWE Non-Compete Clause

Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin has provided a major update on her status, confirming that she is currently one year into a lengthy two-year non-compete clause with WWE. Irvin, who announced her resignation from the company one year ago today, has been the subject of much speculation from fans who have missed her iconic voice on WWE programming. Her non-compete clause is notably longer than the standard 90-day period given to most on-screen talent who are released, which is likely due to her choosing to resign rather than being let go.

Irvin took to social media to clarify her situation and express her gratitude to fans.

“One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…..”

According to a report from PWInsider, this non-compete clause is extensive and prevents her from making any on-screen appearances in wrestling, boxing, or mixed martial arts promotions outside of WWE. This explains why she has not been able to appear on All Elite Wrestling programming alongside her husband, current AEW star Ricochet. While she has reportedly been backstage at multiple AEW events to support her husband, she is contractually barred from appearing on camera. Based on her statement, Irvin will be eligible to sign with another promotion in the fall of 2026.
