The bracket for the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament has been officially unveiled. The full tournament layout was revealed on the October 22, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite, setting the stage for a historic competition to crown the first-ever champions. The eight-team bracket is loaded with established stars, new alliances, and championship-caliber pairings, promising a series of high-stakes matches in the coming weeks. The tournament is set to begin next week.
The reveal on Dynamite featured a major four-way tag team match, with the winning team earning the right to choose their first-round opponents. The team of Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata won the bout and immediately announced that they would be facing the Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) in the first round.
Perhaps the biggest development for the tournament was the formation of a new “super team.” Following the “12 Belts Celebration” for Mercedes Moné, which was interrupted by AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena, appeared. “The Fallen Goddess” made an offer to a disgruntled Moné, proposing they team up to win the new tag team titles. Moné, intrigued by the allure of capturing a 13th championship, accepted the offer, and the duo was officially added to the bracket.
