FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) are once again the number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. The duo won a chaotic four-way title eliminator match on the “Fright Night” edition of AEW Dynamite (October 29) to earn a championship match against the reigning champions, Brodido (Brody King & Bandido), at the Full Gear pay-per-view.
The high-stakes match on Wednesday night also featured The Young Bucks, JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight), and Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus). The finish came after a wild sequence that saw Luchasaurus and Mike Bailey hit moonsaults to the floor on The Young Bucks. Kevin Knight then hit a UFO splash, only to be caught by FTR, who hit him with a Shatter Machine to secure the pinfall and the victory.
The championship match at Full Gear on November 22 will be a highly anticipated rematch. FTR and Brodido previously wrestled in the finals of a tag team eliminator tournament that led to Forbidden Door, with that bout ending in a 30-minute time-limit draw. This will be Brodido’s sixth title defense since they captured the belts in August, while FTR will be attempting to become the first-ever three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Current AEW Full Gear Card:
- AEW World Championship: Hangman Page (c) vs. Samoa Joe
- AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Mercedes Moné
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: Brodido (c) vs. FTR
