AEW star Hologram has taken his first step on the road to recovery. The high-flying luchador shared a video to his social media accounts showing his leg in a post-operation brace, confirming he has undergone surgery for his recent knee injury. The video was accompanied by a simple, determined caption: “Surgery. Rehab. Rise up.” The successful procedure is the first bit of good news for the star since he was brutally attacked and written off of television last month.
Hologram was in the midst of a massive undefeated streak and was scheduled to challenge Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship on the October 2 episode of Dynamite. However, those plans were derailed on the September 27 episode of AEW Collision. During a backstage promo, the feed glitched to show his sinister doppelgänger, “El Clon,” which allowed Kyle Fletcher to ambush the previously undefeated star and viciously attack his knee.
Later that night, it was announced on commentary by Tony Schiavone that Hologram had suffered a significant injury and would be out of action for “quite a while.” AEW President Tony Khan later confirmed that the luchador is expected to miss the remainder of 2025 as he recovers. There is currently no official timetable for his return to the ring.
