WWE star Ridge Holland, who is currently sidelined with a severe Lisfranc injury, has posted an emotional and scathing statement about WWE’s decision not to renew his contract. His contract is set to expire on November 14, and Holland is expected to be out of action for at least another six months.
Holland suffered the foot injury at a TNA iMPACT! taping in September while working the crossover storyline on behalf of WWE. Taking to Twitter, Holland expressed his frustration and fear about his future.
“I never thought I’d not be able to pay my mortgage. I feel like I’ve just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE. Add to that my contract not being renewed knowing that I wouldn’t be able to wrestle for 7 months. This is brutal. Yes they are taking care of the surgery and physical therapy but let’s be honest, that’s the bare minimum after what we sacrifice for the company. Plus the possibility of having to get my neck fused too. Talk about getting totally f*****.”
Holland’s post also revealed that he is dealing with a separate, serious neck injury, adding another layer of difficulty to his situation as he heads into free agency.
