Bully Ray On Jade Cargill’s Title Win: “WWE Has To Put Their Stamp On You”

TNA

On another episode of “Busted Open Radio,” Bully Ray discussed Jade Cargill’s recent WWE Women’s Championship victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He explained that it was necessary for WWE to “put their spin” on her character, rather than simply presenting the same “vision” she had in AEW.

Bully argued that despite Vince McMahon’s departure, a core company “edict” remains: “WWE must create you.”

“I always said that in the Bible, it says God created man in His image. And in WWE, Vince McMahon had to create you in his image. Now Vince isn’t there anymore, but that edict still sticks. So WWE has to put their stamp on you. They have to create you the way they want to create you.”

He contrasted this with the Attitude Era, when stars like Chris Jericho, The Dudleys, and Eddie Guerrero were allowed to “stay true” to the characters they built in other companies.

“So with Jade, they’re gonna have to put their spin on her, and they have every right to. Just because Jade Cargill had a vision for herself in AEW, and just because Tony Khan has had a vision for Jade Cargill in AEW, doesn’t mean that that’s going to match the vision that WWE had for Jade.”
