Two major WWE stars, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory, are expected to make their returns to television “in the coming weeks” to build toward Survivor Series: WarGames.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, return angles for both men are upcoming. Lesnar has not been seen since his dominant squash match victory over John Cena at Wrestlepalooza on September 20. Theory has been out of action with an injury since July.
Dave Meltzer noted that both men were part of the original creative plans for the Men’s WarGames match before Seth Rollins’s injury forced a creative shuffle. The original plan was reportedly:
- Team Punk/Reigns: CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso, and (Jimmy Uso or LA Knight)
- Team Vision: Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory
With Rollins now injured, the report notes that “we know Logan Paul is in that spot” (presumably replacing Rollins). While TV has not yet teased the return of Lesnar or Theory, their angles are expected to begin soon to finalize the teams for the November 29 event.
