Austin Theory Was “Legitimately Considered” For WarGames Spot

A new report has revealed that Austin Theory was originally slated for a much bigger role at Survivor Series. Despite not being currently involved in the match, Fightful Select reports that Theory was “legitimately considered” for a spot in the Men’s WarGames match before Seth Rollins’s injury forced creative plans to change.

In other backstage news from Raw:

  • The segment featuring New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was finalized the day of the show, with an agreement to keep physicality to a minimum. Skattebo is a major fan and participated with no objections from the Giants organization.

  • Netflix and WWE hosted a “Bodega-themed” pre-show party in NYC. Attendees included former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide and Grayson Waller, who was at the event despite not being featured on the show.

  • Joe Hendry’s new WWE deal is confirmed to be a “main roster–level contract,” meaning his compensation is above the minimum for main roster talent.
