AEW star Kenny Omega has weighed in on the bizarre situation surrounding Andrade El Idolo’s status with the company. Andrade made a surprise return during the Dynamite Sixth Anniversary special, attacking Omega and aligning himself with the Don Callis Family. However, he has been absent from programming ever since due to issues surrounding a non-compete clause following his WWE firing.
Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports, Omega shared his thoughts on the matter.
“To see him back in AEW was a happy moment for me. I felt that he really wanted to be there and do well. Now that he’s been sidelined for a little bit, I can imagine that when he comes back he’ll have the same amount of motivation. I think everything will be alright. When things happen, whether it be injury or otherwise, you have to pivot. The show must go on. That’s the way it is. That’s the nature of the beast. That’s professional wrestling.”
As of now, it is unknown when Andrade will be legally cleared to return to AEW television.
