WWE Has Made An Offer To Chris Jericho For A Retirement Storyline

AEW

The speculation surrounding Chris Jericho’s future has reached a fever pitch. With his AEW contract expected to expire in the coming weeks, a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that WWE has officially made a move to bring the legend back.

Dave Meltzer reports that WWE has made an offer to Jericho that includes a return and a retirement storyline to play out next year. While Jericho’s official free agency status is unclear, Meltzer notes that he has dropped hints suggesting he is “leaning towards” returning to WWE rather than re-signing with AEW.

There is growing belief among some in the industry that Jericho could reappear in WWE as early as the Royal Rumble in January. Jericho has not wrestled in AEW since April, and while AEW President Tony Khan has publicly stated the door is always open for a return, he has stopped short of predicting whether “The Ocho” will stay.
