John Cena Signs New Contract Days Before Final Match

John Cena’s in-ring career ends on December 13, but he isn’t leaving WWE.

In an interview with Tom Rinaldi, Cena revealed that he has signed a five-year contract to serve as a brand ambassador for the company. The 16-time World Champion expressed a strong desire to remain part of the WWE family even after he stops competing.

“I will be an ambassador to WWE. I’m already signed on for another five years… I would like to be in this family as an employee, as a contributing part for as long as I can,” Cena said.

Cena plans to use this role to mentor the next generation of talent, specifically helping them develop their characters.

“Maybe mentorship to talent I wouldn’t spend time with where I can sit and be like, ‘Who are you really? How can I get the rapping moment on the bus? I want that guy or girl on TV.’ I’m looking forward to that stuff.”

Cena will wrestle his final match against GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
