Friday Night SmackDown is getting supersized to start the new year.
During this week’s episode, Michael Cole officially announced that the blue brand will return to a three-hour format beginning January 2, 2026. This move mirrors the strategy used at the start of 2025, where SmackDown ran for three hours before reverting to two in July.
It remains unclear if this change is permanent or if the show will eventually scale back to two hours later in the year.
