John Cena Officially Retired From In-Ring Competition

John Cena has wrestled his final match.

Following his submission loss to GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena’s in-ring career has officially concluded. According to Fightful, the broadcast was a massive success, generating the highest level of buzz on Peacock for any non-WrestleMania event.

After the show went off the air, Cena remained backstage for an extended period, taking photos and saying emotional goodbyes to staff and colleagues. Peers like CM Punk and Bayley were spotted in the crowd witnessing the historic moment.

While he will never wrestle again, Cena is not leaving WWE. He recently signed a five-year contract to serve as a brand ambassador. WWE officials have been adamant that this retirement is definitive and there are no plans to ask him to return for “one more match.”
