Oba Femi made a massive impact at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and it sounds like his main roster journey is just beginning.
The two-time NXT Champion faced Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the event, winning via disqualification after interference from Drew McIntyre. Following the match, Triple H praised the “Ruler” of NXT and strongly hinted at his participation in next month’s Royal Rumble.
“When we talk about the future, it is so bright. If only we had an event in January where tons of people compete and you never know who shows up. If only, right?” Triple H teased during the post-show press conference.
Femi has been a dominant force in NXT, holding the distinction of being the longest-reigning North American Champion in history. His performance against Rhodes suggests WWE views him as a future main event player.
