Backstage Reaction To Sting’s Son’s First AEW Match

Steven Borden Jr., son of the legendary Sting, has made a strong impression on AEW management.

Following his dark match debut prior to Dynamite: Winter is Coming on December 10, AEW President Tony Khan was effusive in his praise. Speaking to Fightful, Khan highlighted Borden’s rapid improvement.

“I THOUGHT HE WAS EXCELLENT. He’s doing a great job. Very exciting in my opinion,” Khan stated.

Borden defeated fellow trainee Kiran Grey in the match. Reports indicate that the backstage reaction was equally positive, with veterans impressed by Borden’s physical condition. One roster member jokingly remarked they would “sacrifice years of their NFL team winning to look like Sting’s son.”

Sources expect Borden to be signed to an AEW contract “before long,” if he hasn’t been already.
