Kyle Fletcher is officially staying with AEW for the long haul, and even his bitter rivals agree it’s the right move.
In a recent interview with Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Fletcher confirmed reports that he signed a multi-year extension with AEW in the spring of 2025. The deal, described as a “big money” contract, secures the former TNT Champion as a cornerstone of the promotion’s future. Fletcher revealed the picturesque setting where the deal was finalized.
“I did (sign a new contract with AEW). Yeah. This year. Man, it felt really cool. I was on a beach in Jamaica when I signed my contract… It was pretty surreal,” Fletcher shared. “It’s very weird to realize, like, man, this spot that I’m in, it’s pretty big, it’s pretty special. Not a lot of people get to this level.”
Dustin Rhodes, who lost the TNT Championship to Fletcher on Collision last July, took to social media to comment on the news. despite their on-screen animosity, the veteran acknowledged Fletcher’s value to the company.
“It’s best for business even though I can’t stand him. You can’t deny his talent,” Rhodes wrote.
The endorsement comes as Fletcher continues to dominate in the Continental Classic tournament. Currently tied for the lead in the Gold League with six points, Fletcher is set to face PAC in a high-stakes match at tonight’s Holiday Bash special in Manchester, where a win could secure his spot in the tournament finals at Worlds End.
