Women’s Tag Team Titles On The Line At AEW Worlds End

The card for AEW Worlds End has grown with the addition of a high-profile Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

Following a chaotic eight-woman tag team match on the Holiday Bash edition of Dynamite, it was announced that Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron of the Babes of Wrath will defend their titles against the formidable duo of TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.

The match was set in motion after Mone pinned Nightingale to win the eight-woman tag bout. Post-match, Mone and Athena laid down the challenge in a backstage promo, leading to the bout being officially signed for the December 27 pay-per-view.

This match adds significant star power to the Worlds End card, pitting the established tag team champions against two of the most dominant singles champions in the company.

Updated AEW Worlds End Card (Dec. 27):

  • AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Hangman Adam Page vs. MJF

  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter

  • AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship: Babes of Wrath (c) vs. Mercedes Mone & Athena

  • Continental Classic Finals: Semifinal Winner 1 vs. Semifinal Winner 2

With the event just over a week away, speculation is running high regarding the potential outcomes. If spoilers regarding Collision are accurate, Mercedes Mone may enter this match fresh off a title loss, potentially adding extra aggression to her performance as she seeks to regain gold.
