Former WWE broadcaster Todd Grisham recently opened up about his tumultuous relationship with Vince McMahon, sharing stories of the Chairman’s explosive temper.
Speaking on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Grisham recalled a moment when McMahon “went insane” over his headset because Grisham mentioned that John Morrison wrote poetry.
“‘Did you just say that our number one heel is an effing poet, you stupid F! What the f*ck! Shut up. Just shut up,’” Grisham remembered McMahon screaming.
Grisham also shed light on his infamous “It’s Christian” call from 2009. He revealed that McMahon specifically instructed him to undersell Christian’s return because he wasn’t a fan of the wrestler’s look.
“He’s just said to me, ‘When Christian walks out, I want you to just say “it’s Christian”, and that’s it. Understand?’” Grisham explained. “But Vince just did not like Christian. I think he thought he liked big guys, and he thought Christian just didn’t look the part.”
