AEW Champion Admits She Is “Not Well” After Getting Addicted To This Dangerous Style

Kris Statlander is heading into AEW Worlds End with a new mindset.

The AEW Women’s World Champion will defend her title against Jamie Hayter this Saturday. Speaking to Wrestfriends, Statlander opened up about her evolution as a performer, particularly her embrace of hardcore wrestling.

“You end up like getting hit by a chair a few times… and then your mind gets sick and twisted… and then you willingly land on beds of nails,” Statlander said. “It’s like we’re not well. No one is well in wrestling.”

Regarding her match with Hayter, Statlander admitted she used to lack confidence against top stars who had beaten her previously. However, her recent victories over Mercedes Moné have changed her perspective.

“I’m going into this knowing who I am finally. I feel like I’ve finally like reached my final form in a way.”
