AEW is ringing in 2026 with a stacked edition of Dynamite: New Year’s Smash this Wednesday, December 31.
Coming off the heels of Worlds End, the show will feature the fallout from the pay-per-view, headlined by the new AEW World Champion, MJF. The “Salt of the Earth” is scheduled to address the live crowd in Omaha, Nebraska, following his controversial victory over Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Page.
Two championship matches have also been made official. AEW National Champion Ricochet will defend his title against Jack Perry. This match was booked after Perry pinned Ricochet during an eight-man tag team match on the Worlds End Zero Hour pre-show. Perry laid out the challenge immediately, and AEW officials sanctioned the bout shortly after.
In the women’s division, the TBS Championship will be on the line as Mercedes Moné defends against Willow Nightingale. This rematch stems from the tag team title match at Worlds End, where Nightingale pinned Moné to retain the belts for The Babes of Wrath. A furious Moné threw a tantrum in the locker room following the loss, vowing to “beat Willow’s a**” on Wednesday.
