Mercedes Martinez Announces 2026 Will Be Her Final Year As Full-Time Wrestler

After a decorated career spanning over two decades, Mercedes Martinez is preparing to hang up her boots as a full-time competitor.

The 45-year-old veteran took to social media to announce that 2026 will mark her final year as a full-time active professional wrestler. In a thoughtful and emotional message, Martinez reflected on her journey, which began in the early 2000s and saw her compete for major promotions including WWE, AEW, and ROH.

“2026. Different mindset. Different fire. This is my last year as a full-time ACTIVE professional wrestler. No contracts. No agents. No creative. Just me – and everything I’ve earned over 25 damn years in this business,” Martinez wrote.

She described 2025 as a year of rediscovery on the independent scene and expressed her desire to spend her final year giving back to the next generation.

“So 2026 gets one more year of my body, my heart, and my fight… One last run.”
