The reunion of Jurassic Express appears to be over before it truly began.
Jack Perry and Luchasaurus had recently reformed their popular tag team, but an injury angle on Dynamite has forced a change of plans. During the Worlds End Zero Hour pre-show, Luchasaurus appeared to suffer a legitimate shoulder injury. This was followed up on television with a brutal attack by The Demand (Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun), which was designed to write the former TNT Champion off TV.
According to Fightful Select, the injury is legitimate, and Luchasaurus is expected to miss an indefinite amount of time. In his absence, AEW creative will reportedly continue to push Jack Perry as a singles competitor.
Perry recently challenged Ricochet for the AEW National Championship at New Year’s Smash, coming up short only after interference from Bishop Kaun. With his partner sidelined, Perry is expected to continue his feud with The Demand, potentially chasing the National Title or seeking revenge for the attack on his friend.
This news comes as a blow to fans who were excited to see the original Jurassic Express back together. However, it opens the door for Perry to further establish the “Scapegoat” character on his own in 2026.
