As TNA Wrestling prepares to launch its new era on AMC this Thursday, Matt and Jeff Hardy have some big ideas for the promotion’s presentation.
Appearing on The Budget Cut Podcast, the current TNA World Tag Team Champions discussed the company’s move to the prestigious cable network. Matt Hardy emphasized the need for TNA to carve out a distinct identity separate from WWE and AEW, suggesting that the “cinematic” reputation of AMC could be a key differentiator.
“I think the cinematic aspect of AMC, being a movie channel… with the Breaking Bads and the Walking Deads and whatnot, I would like to see our vignettes be a little more cinematic, have a little more movie feel to them,” Matt said. “I want TNA to really carve out its own identity, forge its own personality… We can be a little different than WWE, be a little different than AEW. We just need to carve our own niche.”
Jeff Hardy, meanwhile, focused on the logistics of being a highly decorated champion. The Hardys currently hold the TNA World Tag Team Titles, the HOG Tag Team Titles, and the 4th Rope Tag Team Titles.
“We’ve got so many championships now… I’m hoping when things get rolling good halfway through the year, we can get AMC to help us out with a Tesla robot to carry all of our championships to the ring, man. I mean hey, we need it,” Jeff joked.
TNA Impact premieres on AMC this Thursday, January 15.
