Bret Hart has opened up another chapter in his long-standing grievances with WCW booking, this time targeting Kevin Nash.
Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Hart detailed a period when Eric Bischoff went on vacation, leaving Nash in charge of creative just weeks before a major show in Toronto. Hart claims Bischoff had planned a massive angle involving him and Bill Goldberg but instructed Hart to keep it a secret.
According to Hart, Nash used his temporary power to try and derail his momentum.
“Kevin Nash wanted me to lose to Dean Malenko in just a match on TV. I remember just going like, ‘You’d job me out to Dean Malenko, who’s like two feet tall?’” Hart recalled. “I said, ‘I don’t want to do it.’ And I never refused to ever job for anybody.”
Hart believes Nash spent weeks trying to “kill him off on TV” because he was kept in the dark about the Goldberg angle.
“I told Kevin Nash… ‘You can’t beat me in the middle of the ring tonight. You can’t. And Eric’s the only one that knows what we’re doing.’”
