Trey Miguel’s tenure in All Elite Wrestling has ended before it truly began.
According to Fightful Select, Miguel was released from his AEW contract just days after signing a multi-year deal with the promotion. The release occurred sometime last week, shortly after the company had secured the services of the entire Rascalz faction (Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed). While no specific reason was given for the sudden departure, the report states that the split was amicable.
The situation became apparent during Saturday’s episode of Collision, where The Rascalz made their on-screen debut in a backstage interview segment. Miguel was notably absent from the group. The following day, Miguel issued a statement on social media announcing a hiatus from the industry.
“Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support the Rascalz still,” he wrote.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that all four members were present backstage in Phoenix last Wednesday, suggesting the decision was made very recently. The remaining members—Wentz, Xavier, and Reed—are expected to continue as a trio.
