Legendary commentator Jim Ross will not be behind the desk for this week’s AEW Dynamite in Orlando.
Ross took to social media late Monday to reveal that he suffered an “untimely fall” that left him incapacitated for several hours. According to the WWE Hall of Famer, the incident occurred in his living room, where he remained stuck on the floor for five hours before receiving assistance. Despite the scary ordeal, Ross maintained his spirits, noting that he was still able to enjoy the College Football Playoff game between the Indiana Hoosiers and Miami Hurricanes.
“Great #CFBPlayoff game tonight! Congrats to @IUHoosiers for an amazing win vs @CanesFootball. My trip to Orlando for @AEW Dynamite is postponed due to an untimely fall that saw me lying on my living room floor for 5 hours. I’ll be watching!,” Ross wrote.
This is the latest in a series of health setbacks for Ross. Last year, just days before All In—AEW’s biggest event of the year—he suffered a bad fall that nearly kept him from the show, though he ultimately powered through to call the main event. Ross had recently returned to the broadcast team earlier this month to call Dynamite in his home state of Oklahoma, a moment that was celebrated by fans and peers alike.
