Report: Powerhouse Hobbs Believed To Have Signed With WWE

AEW

The speculation surrounding Powerhouse Hobbs appears to be reaching a conclusion.

Following his AEW contract expiration on January 15, a new report from Fightful Select indicates that people within WWE operate under the belief that Hobbs has already signed with the company. While there is no official confirmation of ink on paper, sources note that WWE has held a long-standing interest in the powerhouse competitor for years.

Hobbs finished up his AEW commitments on the January 17 episode of Collision: Maximum Carnage, where he, Samoa Joe, and Katsuyori Shibata lost the World Trios Championships to Hangman Page and JetSpeed.

Although Hobbs has not yet been spotted backstage at a WWE event, the report mentions that he is expected to be present during Royal Rumble weekend. The event is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31, 2026. If confirmed, Hobbs would be a major acquisition for WWE heading into WrestleMania season.
