John Bradshaw Layfield may be returning to a full-time role in professional wrestling, but it won’t be under the bright lights of WWE. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) has been in talks with JBL about becoming a regular performer on their weekly show, JCW Lunacy.
Layfield has been active on the independent scene since 2024, making appearances in AAA, GCW, MLW, and TNA. He is already scheduled to appear at JCW’s StrangleMania event over WrestleMania 42 weekend on April 17 in Las Vegas.
The report also notes that JCW is loading up on nostalgia acts from the 1990s. Meltzer states that former ECW personality Joel Gertner is being brought in as a manager, along with former WCW announcer Scott Hudson. Jonathan Coachman is also expected to be a regular. The promotion has seen significant changes recently, with Vince Russo joining as an investor and booker in 2025.
