MJF Dismisses “Tribalism” and Claims No Bad Blood Between Companies

AEW

AEW World Champion MJF has pushed back against the concept of tribalism within the wrestling industry, insisting that the animosity often seen among fans does not exist between the talent. In an interview with Rolling Stone Australia, MJF explained that despite his tenure as an AEW original, he respects the business as a whole.

“What I will say is there’s no bad blood between the boys in the companies. It just doesn’t exist,” MJF stated. He cited top names like Adam Copeland, Jon Moxley, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes as examples of professionals who don’t harbor ill will toward their former employers. “These guys aren’t turning around and saying ‘F that other company.’ They’re not in real life. I’m sorry. They’re just looking for a place to hang their hat.”

MJF attributed his own success to being a “student of the game,” revealing an obsessive level of tape study. “If people knew how much professional wrestling I’ve consumed in the 29 years I’ve been on this planet, they would probably vomit,” he joked. “That’s how I become MJF. That’s how I become a household name when I’ve never been in the ‘big promotion’ right?”
