ECW Legend The Sandman to Wrestle Final Match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break

One of the most iconic figures of the extreme era is set to hang up his kendo stick for good. Joey Janela and GCW announced on Saturday that ECW legend The Sandman will compete in his final match at Spring Break X on April 17 in Las Vegas. While an opponent has not yet been named, the event promises to be an emotional send-off for the 62-year-old brawler.

The Sandman, who began his career in 1989 and has logged nearly 900 matches, remains a beloved figure for his tenure in ECW as well as runs in WWE and TNA. He has remained semi-active in recent years, wrestling once or twice annually, including a surprise appearance during Sabu’s retirement match at last year’s Spring Break. His most recent bout took place in October 2025 for a New Jersey independent promotion.
