Kota Ibushi has shared a new update on his recovery following a severe leg injury sustained on AEW Collision in October. The “Golden Star” suffered a broken femur after falling from the turnbuckle to the outside during a match with Josh Alexander. On Thursday, Ibushi took to Instagram to reveal details about his recent surgery.

“A major screw came loose. This time, two spots are firmly secured. Complete rest! I was told several times, ‘Mr. Ibushi, complete rest!!’ but I’ll do things my way,” Ibushi wrote. “I’m grateful, truly grateful, that I’m allowed freedom in my rehab. Thank you for the surgery. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, AEW.”

In typical Ibushi fashion, he revealed that he defied medical expectations regarding his hospital stay. He noted that while he was supposed to be hospitalized for two weeks, he checked himself out in just three days. Despite an initial prognosis of a two-year recovery, Ibushi stated in January that he remains hopeful for a return in 2026.
