Ricochet has elaborated on his recent viral comments where he claimed that “WWE kills legacies and the love of the sport.” In a candid interview with Forbes, the high-flyer clarified his stance, contrasting the presentation styles of his current and former employers. He specifically praised AEW for being “match-heavy,” arguing that this approach allows talent to look stronger.
“We Get Time to Tell Our Story Physically”
“Very rarely does someone come out looking taken advantage of, unless a story is being told,” Ricochet explained. “We’re given time to tell our story physically in the ring, for the most part, and that’s the beauty of AEW… as opposed to WWE, which is a lot more promo-based storytelling.”
He used a colorful analogy to describe his preference for physical storytelling. “Even when I went to the circus, I liked the lions… but when the trapeze artists went on, that’s what I really loved watching.” Ricochet emphasized that AEW’s environment allows wrestlers to support each other in the ring, creating a culture where “everybody on the roster is good at making everyone else look good.”
