Shocking Title Change Rocks AEW Dynamite as Thekla Wins Gold

AEW

The landscape of the AEW women’s division has been radically altered following a shocking main event on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Kris Statlander, who has been a dominant AEW Women’s World Champion, lost her title to Thekla in a brutal Strap Match.

The Triangle of Madness Reigns Supreme

Statlander had demanded the strap stipulation after being whipped by Thekla and her stablemates on Collision. However, the numbers game ultimately proved too much for “Straplander.” The finish of the match was chaotic, as fellow Triangle of Madness members Skye Blue and Julia Hart rushed the ring to intercept the champion.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Thekla leveled Statlander with a devastating spear. She followed up immediately with a curb stomp to secure the pinfall and capture the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time. The victory marks a major ascendancy for the Triangle of Madness faction.

Following the bell, the assault continued until Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor—now known as The Brawling Birds—hit the ring to make the save, hinting at a future tag team program between the two factions. For now, however, the night belongs to Thekla and her stable.
