Local businesses in Las Vegas hoping to cash in on WrestleMania 42 weekend are facing a major roadblock. Fightful Select reports that the event’s distributor has informed venues within a 50-mile radius that they will not be permitted to air the pay-per-view, even if they are willing to pay licensing fees.
Establishments Frustrated by Blackout
The policy is reportedly designed to drive fans to Allegiant Stadium rather than bars or watch parties. Sources indicate that WWE has no plans to reverse the decision, leaving many establishments frustrated. Some venues had already booked talent appearances and planned events, only to be told they cannot show the broadcast.
Critics argue this contradicts the goal of boosting local tourism, as watch parties are a staple of WrestleMania weekend in host cities. With ticket sales already slower than expected, the blackout adds another layer of tension to the event’s buildup in Sin City.
