Ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas are reportedly lagging behind the pace of recent years, prompting WWE to take action. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that approximately 36,000 tickets have been distributed for each night as of late January—roughly 10,000 fewer than WrestleMania 41 at the same point.
Discounts and Strategic Shifts
To boost numbers, Allegiant Stadium has announced a 25% discount on tickets through February 16. Internally, WWE held an all-department meeting on February 12 to address the slow movement. The sales slump is attributed to higher ticket prices in the TKO era and a reported 9.2% drop in Las Vegas tourism.
The sluggish sales are also impacting creative. Reports suggest that the card is being re-evaluated to ensure the event generates maximum interest. While the announcement of Punk vs. Reigns moved about 700 tickets, the company is looking for larger spikes to fill the stadium for the two-night extravaganza.
