The AEW women’s division has received a major injection of star power with the official arrival of The IInspiration. Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay, formerly known as The IIconics in WWE, made their surprise debut for the promotion on Sunday at a house show event, confirming to the live crowd that they are now “All Elite.”
Multi-Year Deals Secured for Decorated Duo
According to Fightful Select, the signing was considered a “foregone conclusion” within the industry for the past month. The report confirms that both Lee and McKay have penned multi-year contracts with AEW, solidifying their long-term commitment to the company. Their arrival comes fresh off a successful run in TNA Wrestling, where they reigned as multiple-time Knockouts Tag Team Champions.
Their departure from TNA was reportedly amicable. The team finished up their dates with the promotion on the debut episode of Impact on AMC, dropping the titles to The Elegance Brand in a torch-passing moment. Despite reported interest from other organizations, the duo opted to join Tony Khan’s expanding roster.
The IInspiration’s journey has been one of resilience. After their WWE release in 2021, they revitalized their careers in TNA before taking an indefinite leave of absence a year later. They resurfaced at last year’s Against All Odds to resume their run. Now, they join a growing women’s tag team division in AEW that also recently added Lena Kross, who aligned with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford at Grand Slam Australia. With established chemistry and a massive fanbase, Lee and McKay are poised to make an immediate impact on AEW television.
