The “Forbidden Door” between TNA Wrestling and WWE continues to swing open, with The Hardy Boyz standing right in the doorway. In a new interview with Metro, Matt Hardy clarified the legendary team’s status, revealing that while they are committed to TNA, they are in “constant negotiations” with WWE regarding future projects.
“We Will Do More With Them”
“It was very important to us to stay at TNA as opposed to becoming a WWE full-time act [again],” Matt explained. He emphasized that TNA offers them a position to succeed and contribute to the company’s growth in a way a full-time WWE run might not. However, this doesn’t mean their time in the WWE Universe is over.
“The relationship with WWE has been great. Anytime we’ve interacted with Shawn Michaels, he was absolutely awesome… I think you’re going to see some more cool Hardy Boyz moments in WWE before it’s all said and done in 2026,” Matt promised.
This hybrid approach worked well in 2025, seeing Matt and Jeff appear on NXT television multiple times and even capture the NXT Tag Team Championships in October before dropping them back to DarkState at Halloween Havoc. Fans can seemingly expect this unique cross-promotional run to continue throughout the year, giving the veterans the best of both worlds.
