Swerve Strickland backed up his claim as the “Most Dangerous” man in All Elite Wrestling by defeating Kenny Omega in the main event of AEW Dynamite. The highly anticipated bout, which marked the first-ever singles meeting between the two former AEW World Champions, ended in controversy and extreme violence.
Strickland Continues the Assault After the Bell
Strickland secured the victory through underhanded tactics. During the climax of the match, Swerve pulled referee Aubrey Edwards into the path of a V-Trigger attempt by Omega. Capitalizing on the momentary hesitation, Strickland slingshotted Omega jaw-first into the exposed metal of the turnbuckle. He then executed his signature House Call kick, following it up with the Big Pressure to secure the pinfall.
The violence did not stop once the match concluded. Strickland launched a vicious post-match attack on a defenseless Omega. He choked Omega using a steel chain before dragging him to the outside and driving him through the broadcast table with a devastating Vertebreaker. Standing over the wreckage, Strickland simply stated, “I needed this.” The brutal display sends a message to the entire AEW locker room regarding Strickland’s current mindset and his determination to reclaim his spot at the top of the card.
While Omega’s immediate future is uncertain following the attack, the rest of the AEW roster is gearing up for AEW Revolution. The pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The card currently features a huge AEW World Championship defense as MJF takes on “Hangman” Adam Page in a high-stakes Texas Deathmatch where Page can never challenge for the title again if he loses.
