All Elite Wrestling has confirmed that former AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander is currently dealing with injuries and is not medically cleared to compete. The announcement was made during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, revealing that she will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.
Thunder Rosa Targets the New Champion
The injuries stem from her brutal Strap Match against Thekla on last Wednesday’s broadcast. In that grueling encounter, Statlander not only suffered physical punishment but also lost the AEW Women’s World Championship due to heavy interference from the Triangle of Madness. Despite her lack of medical clearance, a frustrated Statlander appeared on Dynamite and made it clear that she wasn’t looking to wrestle a standard match; she simply wanted to fight Thekla in retaliation.
However, her plans for immediate revenge were interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Thunder Rosa. Rosa, who has been out of action since July 2025, stood beside Statlander and announced that she is officially cleared to compete. She immediately issued a challenge to the new champion, Thekla. Statlander, visibly agitated by the interruption, warned Rosa that she needed to watch her back in the dangerous women’s division. It remains unknown exactly when Statlander will be cleared to return to the ring.
The AEW women’s division is heating up just in time for AEW Revolution. The highly anticipated pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. While the women’s title match for Revolution has yet to be finalized, the card will feature a huge main event where MJF defends the AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Deathmatch.
