The Young Bucks have officially laid down the gauntlet for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson made a violent statement by attacking the reigning champions, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), and their manager, Stokely Hathaway, with a barrage of superkicks.
A Historic Rivalry Renewed
Following the physical assault, Nick Jackson grabbed a microphone to issue a formal challenge. He declared that the Young Bucks intend to face FTR for the tag team titles at the upcoming AEW Revolution pay-per-view. The Young Bucks earned this championship opportunity by emerging victorious in a number one contender’s match on the February 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, defeating the Rascalz and the returning Private Party. With their title shot secured, the brothers wasted no time targeting the champions.
If made official, this bout will mark the latest chapter in one of the most celebrated tag team rivalries in modern professional wrestling history. It will be the first time FTR and the Young Bucks have faced off in a standard two-on-two tag team match since their encounter at AEW Dynasty in April 2024. The two teams have a storied history of delivering critically acclaimed matches, and adding the AEW World Tag Team Championships to the mix elevates the stakes significantly.
The match is expected to be a key selling point for AEW Revolution. The event will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. In addition to this tag team clash, Revolution will feature MJF defending the AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Deathmatch, as well as Jon Moxley putting the AEW Continental Championship on the line against Konosuke Takeshita.
