WWE creative officials are reportedly discussing a significant character shift for Lyra Valkyria as the company heads toward WrestleMania 42. The proposed changes would add a sharper edge to her current television presentation on Monday Night Raw, moving away from her purely optimistic persona.
Creative Pitches Aim to Add Emotional Layers and Aggression
According to a report from Bodyslam+, the creative pitches currently circulating would see Valkyria portray a much more intense and frustrated version of herself. This shift in attitude is intended to coincide with the ongoing evolution of her dynamic alongside her mentor and tag team partner, Bayley.
Up to this point, Valkyria has operated strictly as a babyface on the Raw brand. Her character has been heavily centered around themes of resilience, hard work, and a deep respect for the established veterans of the industry. However, there has been internal discussion within WWE that her overarching storyline requires more emotional depth to properly match her steady rise up the card.
To achieve this, WWE is exploring ways to integrate the real-life pressures and frustrations she has spoken about into her on-screen character. This includes highlighting the challenges of feeling overlooked by management while she and Bayley actively pursue the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The proposed creative direction would allow Valkyria to exhibit more raw aggression and visible frustration as the duo becomes increasingly fed up with their standing heading into WrestleMania 42. While these plans are being actively floated behind the scenes, there is currently no confirmed timeline for when this character transformation might begin airing on television.
