Killer Kross, formerly known as Karrion Kross in WWE, is currently thriving on the independent scene as the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion. However, the 40-year-old star still harbors thoughts about a major storyline that was abruptly cut short during his final run in the Stamford-based promotion.
“Anything Can Happen” for the Free Agent
Kross made a high-impact return to WWE in August 2022, immediately inserting himself into the main event picture by attacking Drew McIntyre, who was actively feuding with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. The segment memorably concluded with Kross’ wife, Scarlett, placing an hourglass in the ring, signaling that Reigns’ time as champion was running out. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated three-way dynamic faded into oblivion, and Kross and Scarlett eventually departed WWE again in August 2025.
During a recent interview with Monopoly Events, Kross was asked if there were any unfinished narratives he would like to revisit. He immediately pointed to the aborted program with the “Tribal Chief.”
“Under the right circumstances I still would do that match,” Kross admitted, acknowledging Reigns’ current momentum. “He’s got some big things coming up that I hear.”
While Kross expressed a desire to tie up that loose end, he emphasized his commitment to his current role. “And I say this respectfully to the company, my heart is here. This is where I am right now and I am solely focused on this [MLW].” Nevertheless, he left the door open for future possibilities, adding, “But the beautiful part about being a free agent? Anything can happen. If everyone can get on the same page.”
