The match card for next month’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view continues to take shape following a chaotic episode of AEW Dynamite. For the first time ever, high-flying sensation Bandido will go one-on-one against Andrade El Idolo after a formal challenge was issued and accepted on the broadcast.
A Historic First-Time Encounter Set for Los Angeles
The confrontation was set into motion following Brody King’s dominant victory over Mark Davis. Post-match, King immediately grabbed a microphone to demand a fight at Revolution, specifically calling out former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland to get back into the title picture. Strickland, accompanied backstage by Prince Nana, appeared entirely disinterested in the callout and simply walked away from the monitor.
Seizing the moment, Bandido stepped up to declare that he was also looking for a fight on the pay-per-view stage. His open challenge was quickly answered when Andrade El Idolo’s music hit. Andrade emerged on the stage alongside his manager, Don Callis. Bandido signaled his signature gun gesture, and Andrade reciprocated with his customary fist gesture, effectively making the marquee match official. While the two exceptional luchadors crossed paths on opposite sides of a trios bout in April 2022, this will mark their first-ever singles meeting inside the squared circle.
The addition bolsters an already stacked lineup for AEW Revolution, scheduled for Sunday, March 15, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The current card is headlined by AEW World Champion MJF defending his title against “Hangman” Adam Page in a high-stakes Texas Death Match, where Page can never challenge for the World title again if he loses. Additionally, AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR will defend their gold against The Young Bucks, and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will put his title on the line against Konosuke Takeshita in a bout with no time limit.
