The Ring of Honor roster has officially added a former WWE main roster talent to its ranks. Tehuti Miles, formerly known to WWE audiences as Ashante “Thee” Adonis, made his surprise promotional debut during Sunday’s Ring of Honor television tapings in Jacksonville, Florida. However, his arrival within the Tony Khan-led wrestling empire was actually finalized long before he stepped in front of the cameras.
A Lengthy Delay Before Hitting the Ring
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Miles is officially under an AEW contract and has been quietly signed to the company for the past six months. The outlet noted that the 36-year-old performer actually put pen to paper during the first week of September. Miles had not wrestled a single match since suffering a loss to Ricky Saints last June on WWE NXT. His previous WWE contract officially expired on August 10, and he secured his new deal just a month later. It remains unclear why the company waited half a year to debut him or why he opted not to work any independent dates during the interim.
Miles originally signed with WWE in 2019, making his initial waves on the NXT and 205 Live brands. He eventually found his greatest television success as a member of the Hit Row faction, alongside Swerve Strickland, AJ Francis, and B-Fab. The group was called up to the SmackDown roster in August 2022 before Miles and the rest of the crew were eventually shuffled back to NXT in the summer of 2024.
Although he never captured championship gold during his WWE tenure, his athletic background and established television experience make him an intriguing prospect for the ROH brand. His arrival in Jacksonville marks a fresh start for Miles, providing him with a platform to showcase his singles capabilities away from the faction dynamics that defined his previous national television run.
