The road to WrestleMania 42 continues to heat up as WWE prepares for a massive episode of Monday Night Raw broadcasting live from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. General Manager Adam Pearce has officially announced a loaded lineup for the show, featuring the highly anticipated return of Roman Reigns to the red brand.
Champions and Challengers Collide
In a video posted to social media on Sunday, Pearce confirmed that Reigns will be in the building. Reigns was last seen on the Raw following the Royal Rumble, where he confronted CM Punk and declared his absolute hatred for the World Heavyweight Champion. With Punk also scheduled to appear live following his successful title defense at the Elimination Chamber, Pearce teased the inevitable volatility. “Roman and Punk in the building at the same time. It’s live TV. What the hell could possibly go wrong? Tune in to find out,” the General Manager stated.
The broadcast will also serve as a victory lap for the newly crowned WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, AJ Lee, who captured the gold in Chicago. Additionally, Pearce promised to formally address the ongoing situation with Seth Rollins, following Rollins’ shocking interference in the men’s Elimination Chamber match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, fan interest is incredibly high, with 7,436 tickets distributed for the Indianapolis event as of press time.
In-ring action will feature Dominik Mysterio defending his Intercontinental Championship against the high-flying Penta, who earned his title opportunity by defeating El Grande Americano last week. Furthermore, Gunther will clash with Dragon Lee in a bitter grudge match. The rivalry escalated last week when Gunther demanded the Atlanta crowd worship him instead of the retiring AJ Styles, leading to a backstage brawl initiated by a vengeful Lee. As WrestleMania 42 approaches, the intersecting storylines on Raw are cementing the event as one of the most highly anticipated spectacles in recent WWE history.
