Concerning news emerged from the WWE locker room just moments before the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown went live on the air. Fan footage circulating on social media showed medical officials attending to rising star Jordynne Grace in the backstage area following her match on the Main Event tapings.
“At Least There Was Already a Wheelchair Waiting”
Grace was competing in a singles match against Alba Fyre for the Hulu-exclusive program when the incident occurred. Shortly after the medical attention was captured on camera, Grace took to her own social media platforms to address the situation with a sense of humor. She posted a photo of herself seated in a medical wheelchair—specifically noting it was the one frequently used by Chelsea Green—and quipped, “Well, at least there was already a wheelchair waiting.”
As of this writing, WWE has not released an official statement regarding the exact nature or severity of Grace’s injury. The timing is unfortunate, as Grace has been building significant momentum since being called up to the main roster in January.
Following a highly successful stint in NXT, she immediately entered a high-profile feud with Jade Cargill over the WWE Women’s Championship. Although she came up short against Cargill on the February 13 edition of SmackDown, she bounced back two weeks later with a decisive victory over Candace LeRae. Fans are hoping the injury is minor and won’t derail her promising main roster trajectory.
